Overview

The TA Instruments Hands-on Training Courses are taught in-person in the lab in front of the instruments. Class size is limited to ensure an ideal learning environment. Topics include basic theory, instrument and software operation, calibration, and applications. All courses are fee-based.

These courses are currently available for the Discovery DSC and TGA, DMA 850 model Dynamic Mechanical Analyzers (DMA), and Discovery Hybrid Rheometers. Please refer to the Course Outline section below for further information on the topics typically covered.


Course Schedule

All Hands-on Training Courses are held in-person at the TA Instruments training facility in New Castle, Delaware unless otherwise noted on the schedule. These 2-day courses are scheduled at regular intervals in conjunction with Theory and Applications Courses. Discovery DSC & TGA Hands-On Course

This training course is held entirely in the lab, working on the instruments, running samples and analyzing data. This course covers our Discovery Series DSC and TGA, and it is recommended that attendees have also taken the DSC and/or TGA Theory and Applications course prior to taking this hands-on course.

The course will cover:

  • Theory of operation
  • Instrumentation
  • Calibration
  • Experimental parameters
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Applications

Samples can include, but are not limited to, polymers, dispersions, and calibration materials.
