Samuel Redstone, PhD

Applications Scientist
Waters Materials Sciences Division (Formerly TA Instruments)

Samuel Redstone, PhD, is an applications scientist at TA Instruments-Waters LLC providing applications support to the Microcalorimetry and Thermal Analysis product lines. Key responsibilities include providing customer support, performing instrument demonstrations, and teaching training courses. Prior to joining TA Instruments in 2021, Sam earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Utah, where, under the guidance of Prof. Cynthia Burrows, he studied the link between oxidative DNA damage and repair, and the key role that oligonucleotide structure played in this process.

Jon Whitledge

Application Scientist
Waters Materials Sciences Division (Formerly TA Instruments)

Jon Whitledge holds an M.S. in Polymer Science and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron, with extensive coursework spanning materials science, mechanical design, and analytical methods. Over a 37-year career—20 of which were in R&D management—he has led cross-functional teams across strategy, product development, intellectual property, manufacturing, quality, and sales. His experience spans organizations from startups to Fortune 500 companies and includes work with polymers, composites, elastomers, biomaterials, piping systems, and performance textiles. Jon’s technical expertise centers on mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and rheology, utilizing a broad range of advanced analytical techniques.
