11:00 AM EDT | 4:00 PM BST

Amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) are a widely used formulation strategy to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water‑soluble drug candidates. However, the physical stability and performance of ASDs are strongly influenced by their thermal properties, molecular interactions, and phase behavior. This webinar will discuss the role of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as a fundamental analytical technique for characterizing amorphous solid dispersions throughout development.

What we'll cover:
  • Basic overview of ASDs
  • The difference between solid solutions and solid suspensions
  • Principle of ASD characterization with DSC
  • Practical considerations
  • How hyphenated techniques can be used for further characterization
