Microcalorimetry is a powerful technique that can address a broad spectrum of compatibility and stability challenges across various areas. This webinar will showcase the TAM IV microcalorimetry platform's capabilities in studying material stability and compatibility within aerospace defense applications. TAM IV provides exceptional sensitivity, which is crucial for tasks such as measuring propellant decomposition kinetics and determining long-term incompatibility between materials.

We will delve into how the TAM IV can be utilized to evaluate the long-term thermal stability of energetic materials, providing valuable information that can be used to ensure these materials are stored and handled safely. Topics will also include studies of the compatibility of explosives with other materials, propellant decomposition, and the role of stabilizers in these types of reactions.

You will learn:
  • What is heat flow microcalorimetry and how does it work?
  • How to assess the stability of energetic materials under various conditions
  • How to study compatibility of different materials used in aerospace/defense applications
