Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and Styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) are two widely successful commodity polymers. Both materials are versatile and known for their chemical resistance, fatigue resistance, hardness, and rigidity. As a result of these properties, they have a wide range of applications including automotive components, electronics, packaging materials, and medical devices.

Due to its many applications, plastic producers provide a variety of resins that have suitable processing and mechanical properties. Early evaluation of the mechanical proprieties during the resin selection stage can provide valuable information to fulfill customers’ fatigue requirement. In this webinar, we compare four different resin grades and show how in-depth mechanical testing will help you select the best resin for your application.

What You'll Learn:
  • Key differences between Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) polymers
  • How chemical and mechanical properties influence performance in real-world applications
  • The importance of fatigue resistance, hardness, and rigidity in resin selection
  • A comparative analysis of four different resin grades using mechanical testing
  • How early-stage mechanical testing streamlines resin selection and improves product reliability
