Advanced materials and innovative fabrication processes are playing crucial roles in aviation, aerospace, and defense sectors, as manifested by the rapid adoption of high-performance composites, additive manufacturing, and self-healing materials, to name a few. Essential to the material performances and processes improvements, many critical material properties such as thermal stability, coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), glass transition temperatures (Tg), melting point (Tm), specific heat capacity (Cp) etc, can be investigated by vital analytical techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), thermomechanical analysis (TMA), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

These fundamental analytical tools can be further augmented by hyphenation techniques: TGA-EGA (evolved gas analysis) such as TGA-FTIR, TGA-MS; and advanced accessories such as DSC-Raman and photo-DSC, to achieve deeper insights into the material properties, compositions, or reaction kinetics. This webinar will illustrate the beneficial applications of these powerful characterization techniques to achieve better understanding of thermal & thermomechanical properties and contribute to the advancements in materials and manufacturing processes innovation.

Join this webinar to learn:
  • How to achieve holistic characterization from various thermal & thermal mechanical methods
  • What is modulated DSC (MDSC) and how it can be a powerful tool to enhance DSC analysis
  • How photo-DSC can be a beneficial technique to aid the understanding of photoinduced 3D-printing processes
