BATTERY WEBINAR SERIES

Rheological Characterization of NMC-Based Dry Powder Cathode in Lithium-Ion Batteries

October 23, 2024
10:30 am EST | 3:30 pm BST | 4:30 pm CET

Dry powder coating is gaining recognition for its potential to optimize lithium-ion battery electrode manufacturing. This solvent-free technique not only reduces volatile organic compound emissions but also lowers processing costs compared to traditional slurry methods.

In this webinar we will explore how powder rheology is used to provide insights into the flow and behavior of powder materials. The varying shear rates in dry powder mixing and coating methods make rheology invaluable for understanding flowability under different processing conditions. Additionally, you will gain a better understanding of the effects of powder cohesion and polymer binder content and why it is essential for refining the coating process and achieving optimal results.

Join us for this webinar to:
  • Learn how the powder rheology accessory works and it’s ease of use
  • Understand why powder testing is critical for ensuring optimized electrode performance
  • Explore various applications in which powder rheology can be applied and how
