Join us for a one-day in-person seminar focused on advanced characterization techniques for polymer materials. This seminar is designed for scientists and engineers of all backgrounds and technical abilities. You will gain an understanding of how to qualify/quantify, optimize process conditions and predict product performance of your polymeric materials to ensure a successful end-use product. This is a live event and it is not possible to join remotely. Attendance confirmations will be sent out closer to the date in order to confirm in-person attendance.

Meet the Speakers

Dr. Philip Davies

Principle Applications Scientist - Thermal Analysis

Following completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong bias towards materials science, he carried out a PhD into polymer performance and decomposition. This was followed by an academic career as a Senior Research Fellow investigating a range of materials performance applications. Throughout all his research, thermal analysis has been central to the materials characterisation and novel material development. In 2005 he joined TA Instruments as an Applications Scientist. Within this role Philip provides support to our customers and partners in both pre- and post-sale activities. The role at TA Instruments holds continual interest and challenges in providing the characterisation solutions in a wide and varying range of industries and research areas. This role provides many opportunities to expand and implement material knowledge and understanding to continually improve the support we provide to our customers and partners

Dr Peter Hodder

Application Team Leader

As a chemist graduate from the University of Birmingham (UK), Peter originally worked for 8 years in industry, working in the development of novel resins for the coatings markets, for companies like CVP and Total Parachemie. In 1995, he joined TA Instruments as part of a UK rheology application team designed to provide technical support to both external sales, service, R&D and of course, TA customers. This role has evolved over time and now Peter as the senior application support for rheology for the Europe North region, as well as supporting our distributor network in Europe. Peter has recently taken on the additional role of Application Team Leader
